SUPERIOR STRENGTH, TESTED TOUGHNESS
No road? No problem.
At the heart of every Chevy Colorado is the new Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine that comes in 2.5L and 2.8L displacements. In designing the Duramax engine, it has been subjected to rigorous tests, under tough and varying engine loads and driving conditions in Africa, Asia, and North and South America.
The 2.8L variants come with a Common Rail Direct Injection (CRDI) system and Variable Geometry Turbocharger with intercooler (VGTi) that provides efficient power delivery across a wide RPM band. It is capable of producing best-in-class 200 hp at 3,600 RPM and 500 Nm at 2,000 RPM.
THE POWER AND CAPABILITY OF A TRUE TRUCK
With 500 Nm of usable torque and an 8-crossmember chassis configuration, the Colorado is perfect for heavy-duty tasks – from transporting passengers and cargo to hauling heavy loads. The Chevrolet Colorado has a 3.5-ton towing capability and over 1 ton of payload capacity.
All Colorado variants are Z71 high stance models that have sufficient ground clearance to traverse through rough terrains and wade through water depths of up to 880 mm at 7km/hr.
COMFORT IN ANY ROAD CONDITION
Drive with exceptional comfort and handling over any terrain with the vehicle’s high torsional rigidity and smooth suspension system. The stiffer chassis also identifies and dials out noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) from the cabin, so you can enjoy a more comfortable quiet drive.
To give you added convenience, a drive mode selector switch** allows you to switch between 2-wheel drive to 4-wheel drive high to 4-wheel drive low just by turning a knob. Matched with a limited slip differential, this system provides and controls power to all wheels to help achieve maximum traction in both dry and slippery conditions.
TOUGH OUTSIDE, REFINED INSIDE
Step inside and be impressed. With ample front-row and second-row shoulder room and headroom, the Colorado is designed to provide outstanding levels of interior comfort for drivers and passengers alike. For a sleek and sporty feel, the interior finish features a beige-and-black, two-toned color scheme, complete with metallic inserts.
Behind the wheel, you get a cool view of the Camaro-inspired instrument cluster. All displays, including the Driver Information System (DIS) between the speedometer and tachometer, are back-lit with Ice-Blue LED illumination. Its DIS has useful features, including programmable speed alarm, actual fuel-consumed meter and engine-hour meter, and transmission temperature gauge.
Stay organized and accommodate documents or items with ample space and 30 interior storage locations.
TAKE PRIDE IN A SOLID RIDE
The Colorado is bold, rugged, and definitely Chevy-strong. At the front, Chevrolet’s internationally recognized golden bowtie and signature dual-port grille are complemented by two large projector-style chrome headlamps that flow into the front fenders. The side-beams of the large hood are three inches high and together with the flared wheel arches, they give the Colorado a high shoulder line and a visibly bolder look.
THERE are just a few vehicles you’ll really feel safe in during this season of heavy rains and sudden floods. And yes, one of them wears a bow tie as a badge, and is as American as they can get. That gold bow-tie badge proudly emblazoned at the front grille of the Chevrolet Colorado 4×2 […]
CHEVROLET Colorado owners in this country have something to brag about to their American counterparts: they were able to take first dibs on this fine truck because General Motors (GM) only reintroduced the Colorado model to the US market last year. The all-new Colorado being sold in the US now bears a new design and […]
Apart from what we all pretend to be a ridiculous reason to own a truck (but is really a very palpable need no matter your gender as long as you are a Pinoy), the riding comfort and peace of mind alone will make you seriously consider investing in a Tracker rather than some boring old […]
